I'm looking at an '04 X model with 111K miles. Is there anything I need to worry about with regard to it being so high of mileage? I was looking at 2003 and above because I know they replaced the transmission with a 4 speed however to be in my price range I need higher mileage.

I'd say that 111K miles on an 04 is high mileage. Normal vehicle mileage is about 12 - 15 K a year, so your 04 should have something like 60 - 75K.
I think the most important thing is regular oil changes, but you may want to look for documentation of other scheduled maintenance like spark plug changes, auto trans fluid changes, etc.

The 4.0 is capable of many more miles than that... Sounds like it's an automatic, though. Most auto trannies fail at some point and at 111 K you might be entering the milage window to worry about it. I've heard (and seen) the oil pumps on the 4.0's wear out at around 150K. Not a hard repair but just keep an eye on your gauge. As for the rest of the stuff... It's a Jeep. Some things may fail now and then but you should be able to enjoy many years of reliable driving. Generally Jeeps last a long time and cause very little trouble. But we already know that!!
