Hissing sound under glove box

So just recently I noticed a hissing sound coming from under the glove box area. It happens every couple of minutes. I dont really mind it or think that it is anything serious, but it scares the hell outta my gf. :lol: just kinda curious what it could be.

It could be a Burmese Python, do you live in South Florida?

Just kidding. My 98 XJ does that whenever the HVAC is on. Doesn't matter if it is on heat or A/C.
You may notice the A/C compressor clutch engaging every few minutes also.
The hissing is the sound of a vacuum actuated door moving open or closed. If the hissing sounds like an open vacuum line though, you might want to be sure it isn't cracked or pulled off it's barb.
