SUMMERS HERE;) And i dont know how to take the doors off!!! and no manual to look for it anyone give me a simple explanation... my friend has an 03' and he says he just pulled them off... idk mannn

also what size torque wrench do i use to take off my mirrors to repaint them!?

Very simple. Little nut on the bottom of each hinge......remove nut and pop 'em off!!! Might take a little friendly persuasion (i.e. - rock 'em back and forth while exerting upward pressure). Enjoy!!!!! They're GREAT with the doors off.

PS - might have to remove a fuse or disconnect the dome light switch in the door jambs.

Yep, there should be 2 nuts per door. It's really quite simple and easy to do! Might need a little penetrating oil on there to both get the nut off and to pull the hinge pin out.

2 nuts per door? My '94 only has the nut on the top hinge of each door.

Yeah, Sparky, TJ should be 2 nuts. laxpug19, need to make it NO nuts, no matter what you got.

If having them stolen is not a concern, toss the nuts in a drawer or toolbax somewhere so you can yank the doors off easily.

Should be one on each hinge. Is it just bare threads on the other hinge that doesn't have a nut?

Good advice.

I have not seen my nuts since I bought my rig.

(ex wife took them)

(they were in the junk drawer of the kitchen, she emptied it & took the contents)

(I am still a man)

(I still have my JEEP!!)

Once you have them doors off, check out the local Harley Davidson shop. Almost any mirror for a bike fits the top hinge purr-fectly....... some dudes don't like a mirror at all, I tend to.

(thanks to a 75mph menuever to change lanes on a highway, last second a mini cooper comes out of nowhere, thought for a second he was trying to syphen gas through his headlight!)

Anyway, it makes it nice to kick the foot up onto the doorjam, lean back and just glance instead of neck craning all the time. (don't put one on the passenger side though, too dorky!)

I haven't ever heard of the Harley mirror trick. That' pretty cool.8)

And just for the record. I still have both my nuts.:D

I don't believe there's any thread at all on the bottom hinge.....

Oh I could think of better words to describe her than that my friend, pleanty.

But like a great country song reads, I got the Jeep & the Dog, life is good......

Life is even better, I have 2 dogs, both under 2 yrs old, neither will even consider leaving the front seats of the TJ while the doors are off........

Its so funny to run into a store, come out and people are standing there amazed the 2 pups are sitting upright in the front seats just waiting......... LIFE IS REALLY GOOD!
