Jeep body mounts - rubber or poly?

I'm going to install a 1" body lift, and will probably replace my body mounts. It appears that most aftermarket body mounts are made of poly, but I've heard that this doesn't absorb the shock that a rubber mount will.

What are your opinions of poly mounts?

I need to do all my mounts and I definately want to use the factory type rubber mounts. I want the quiet flex they offer.

I've experienced the nastiness of poly mounts. They take a beating...and save a good bit of it for you to sample.

Polyurethane is far more durable than the rubber mounts and yes they squeek sometimes and because the poly's are more ridgid, it transfers more vibrations. If i were to choose, i'd pick poly's.

I have poly, yes they will transfer more vibrations, but honestly, you won't feel them unless your one of those ubber car and drive ride and feel kinda guys who HAVE to look for every single fault in everything. as for the squeaking, no so much body mounts as much as spring bushings, but when I put mine in I put a very very liberal amount of white litheum grease.. never heard a squeak in 6 years

I used the Daystar 1 inch body lift on my Jeep. It does not use spacers..........it is basically a 1 inch taller body mount. It is poly and I don't notice much of a difference in vibration.

Vibrations will increase with Poly, but it's not like the jeep is not a rattle can anyway... Now for ENGINE mounts, stay away from poly; those can knock your teeth out, especially on a 4 banger!

I just ordered the JKS body lift and JKS riser motor mounts from 4WD for my project. I'll post a trip report once I get everything installed.

i am going stock poly replacements from energy suspension or daystar. my buddy owns a 4x4 shop and had a yj for a long time and he said that is what he had and he puts in when customers want body bushings done or a body lift.
