Ok so after selling my lifted 91 YJ do to a growing family, two years ago I bought the wife a 2011 JK 4 door brand new. It the base model with the 225 series tires. I can't stand them and am looking to bump them up to a 245 or 255 series tires but need to keep the 16" steel wheels do to $$$$ has anyone done this and what are your findings as far as any offset issues or rim width issues.

Thanks

i see some monstrous wires on the stock jk rims. if your wheel spacing is the same as the other aluminum rims, you can run huge tires easily.

our base model had the steelies on it too. i got some jk rubicon 17s wih 245/70/17 on them and they fit fine. i am upgrading to used rubicon springs and shocks though for a cheap and easy lift. you should look into doing that also as it should give you an easy 1-2" lift
