May be trading 01WJ for 01TJ - tire/wheel/lift question

The 01 GC Limted is currently running 255/75x17 now (about 32in tire). I still have the 235/65x17 stock tires (approx 29 in tire) stored in garage.

If I do trade for the TJ (6 cyl/auto trans) how much back spacing would I need to relocate either of the above tires to it?

Judging from the pics (I'll see the TJ next week) looks like it has some lift. How much & what type is unknown.

How much lift would I need to run either of the tires above?

How far can a TJ lift before getting into no-man's land with drive train changes. It will spend 80%+ on road and the off-rodd time will be moderate.

If I remember correctly your 29inch tire combo will run fine with no lift, but the 32 inch tire might rub with just a bit of mild flexing. (think a 31 is the largest you can run with no rubbing with no lift.)
As to how much lift before you have to make modifications to the drive train, 4 inches of lift with a T-Case drop, but then again you will need things like a adjustable track bar...2-3 is considered the break point before you will need to make some mods of parts.
