My Yuppie Jeep...

Always wanted a Jeep, and finally got my first about a month ago. It's a 1994 Jeep Wrangler (YJ) - only thing I've done to it so far is mount the CJ-style windshield-bracket-mount mirrors so I can run it with the doors off. Came with the hard top and a bikini top. It's just a 4-banger, but I'm having a blast with it. I need some more aggressive tires on it, but I don't have any plans to lift it at this time - it's already enough of a climb for my fat old ass to get into!

Anyway - I just found this Forum, and I'm looking forward to learning from you guys.

That's a nice clean looking YJ - good find. Welcome to Jeepz.com

Thanks Boge...I'm going to check those out. Have you had any problems with the mirrors staying adjusted...or with vibration affecting visibility while moving?

The vibration isn't that bad - there is some, but not enough to affect visibility.

I had a problem early on with the wind blowing the mirrors back at highway speeds (65 mph & above), but I have now cinched the bolts down enough so that's no longer a problem.

The only other issue I've had is when I run with doors on, I have to be careful getting out - otherwise, the door will slam back against the mirror, and knock the mirrors out of adjustment. This is not a problem with the mirrors scuffing the doors or anything, as the only contact is made on the rubber surrounding the outside of the mirror.

I am happy with the mirrors up to this point.

Thanks for the info on the mirrors, Boge.

Also, looked at your website. Very nice! God is in control...the 2nd amendment rocks...Jeeps are cool...and guitar pickers live forever. :shades:

Try shortening your door straps. The easiest way is to twist them a few times before hooking to the door pin, or you could buy something like this:
