NEED ADVICE?

ok guys, here is the deal. I want to run 31x10.5x15 tires on my 95 YJ. I also want to get good suspension travel. I do not do much extreme off roading but I go through some mud slush during hunting season(winter) and play some on the weekends. Because of my limited budget (college student) I will not be able to do a full suspension lift. I want some tires that will perform good on the highway (driving back and forth to school) but not get me stuck in the woods. I was thinking that i could fit the tires with a 2 in body lift. is this possible or will the tires rub offroad? what tires do any of you recommend that are under $500. I know BFG ATs are the top of the line, but I do not have enuf $$ to get them in time for hunting season. I NEED HELP. I have looked at so many tires I am going insane, and can not decide on the lift either?????

I would do the Goodyear MT/R's. Those are on the new Rubicons. They are pricey $600-$700 for 5. The BFG MT's are good too and a little cheaper. Those are my votes. DO NOT DO A 2 INCH BODY LIFT!!! 2 and 3's look bad and can cause trouble. You should be fine with no lift. A 1 inch body is okay and will go well with future lifts.[addsig]

you could always go with a 1" to 1 and half " shackle lift....cheap, and easy to do, and will more than make room for the 31's, plus let you articulate a little

When I was in college I had a TJ with the 30" Wrangler GS-A(?) stock wheels you can get. I did my fair share of mud splashing and some decent off roading and I never had any problem with traction. I dont know what exactly your offroad plans are but some trails in the woods and a little mud a newer stock tire worked fine for me. [addsig]
