Need hand finding out which transmission fits on 97 tj

I would need a hand in finding out wat can fit in my 97 tj! It a 6cyl manual trans and unfortunatly need new trans.
If u know what I need plz contact!!!

Yours in an AX15, but I think you can fit the newer TJ 5spds from behind the 4.0L but not sure what the model is.

2000 model for the first year of the NV3550 on the manual trans. for the TJ. NV1500 started in 03. 30/32RH automatic trans. 97-older-02 then the 42RLE also was introduced in 03 for the TJ's..

The NV3500 is as close to a direct bolt in as you get for the AX15 and a stronger transmission.

Thanks guys, I went an found my self the nvg3550 aperently it's out and 01 , she clean looks brand new! Is there not a kit needed in order for her to fit ??? Beside that what should input for muffler, there any dif as too what I choose?? I'm new wthbjeepnjust reading lots trying to learn as I go..... Hurd couple thin. To make more horse power, but what do u guys suggest ????

Oh and which clutch is best... I do lil off roading and tones of citie driving!!!

I would recommend only asking one question per thread, makes it easier to get replies and to follow the thread.

Having said that, I would recommend an OEM type clutch made by LUK, available at Carolina Clutch and Performance, Inc.: Performance Clutches &amp Flywheels or Dial-A-Clutch - Your LuK Clutch Kit Specialist . A performance clutch for your setup would be a waste of money.

So I found a transmission, the nvg 3550 but now I need the shift leaver that fits this 01 tranns. Anybody have one for sale?? The dealerships all back orderd
