i am not getting any fluid to wash my windshield.

tested pump by hooking wires to battery...the pump ran fine and squirted fluid out of hose.

test for voltage at connector that goes to pump... i got battery voltage everytime i twisted the turn signal lever to mist. this was on the violet colored wire not the black.

wondering what else to do?

also should the wipers always return to the same position when done operating. mine stop right in place whenever i am done using the switch.

i have a spare wiper switch that i will install if i need too, just seeing if i overlooked anything (and yeah theres fluid in the resovoir).

If it squirts out the hose then the spray heads must be cloged. Take a very fine piece of wire and see if you can open them up again. Better yet get a very fine torch tip cleaning set and see if that will help! tug

You can also use compressed air to remove a clog in the system. Unhook the hose from the pump and blow air thru the spray head if the wire trick dont work.

My washers haven't worked since i purchased the jeep (YJ). I just keep a good layer of rain-x on the glass and wash it when it gets real bad. And yes, the wipers will stop in place when you turn off the wiper switch. I don't know about newer YJs or TJs. Mine's an 89.

CB Radio issues...Grrrr.....

I just fixed my wipers on my '94 YJ, and they do stop in place when you turn the switch. I had a bar that connected my motor to the wipers break, very easy to repair. I would suggest the compressed air method to try and unclog the hose, if you have that accessible.

the lines not clogged i checked that first, i just didn't state it well.

the only thing i can think of is at the connector that goes into the washer pump....
i get voltage on the purple colored wire when i turn the wiper switch AND when i hook the pump straight up to the battery terminals with wires it runs....
so i am thinking the black ground wire at the pump connector isn't grounding?

Simple way to find out. Just run a test light from the ground to a hot source (such as the positive batteryterminal). If it lights up, your ground is ok. If it doesnt, then you have a bad ground.
