Ok.. so I got a rusty's offroad 3.5 lift for my YJ, and now my tires look pathetic. I was thinking of getting 33" tires, but wasn't sure which ones to get. I was looking at some 15" ar767 rims, but I'm not sure what Offset, Backside, and Bolt Circle to get. Does anyone know the measurements I will need for my rims? Also, what recommendations do people have on a good and reasonably priced 33" tires?[addsig]

ive seen ads for 33x13.5x15 baja claws already mounted on black rockcrawlers for like 850 not sure how much you're lookin to spend but that'd look really nice. the ad is from 4 wheel wholesaler or something like that. its in JP magazine all the time[addsig]

What are you going to be using your jeep for mainly??? If you are going to be mainly street driving..go with AT's. The more blocky and agressive the tread, the shorter the street life will be...and they will be noisy if that matters...But if yah like the mud like Ole Dawg does...Cooper Discoverer muds 12.5 x 33's work pretty good..they will take you anywhere you have clearance to go... But Boggers are the king of mud, they are as close to paddle tires as you can legally run. Remember if you drive in much sand, really agressive tires can get you stuck QUICK!! expecially in slow uphill sections.

Keep in mind too how the tires will affect your gear ratio, and inversely drivetrain stress as well as drivability, expecially when going stop and go.

This jeep is my daily driver, and I do drive alot. I was looking for a larger, more agressive tire, so on weekends I can go offroading. I live in the northeast, so all weather conditions do apply here: snow, rain, dry, mud, hills.. etc..

I also have a 4banger and do not want to ruin my drive train, with this in mind.. are 33" too much stress on my poor little jeep? Or should I be ok?

any advice is greatly appreciated :)[addsig]

I would go with GoodYear Wrangler MT/R's. I have them they are great. They aren't very loud either and I've got 35x12.50's. Great in the snow, great in the rocks, great in the mud and I think they are great on the road too. They are alittle pricey, but its for your JEEP doesn't it deserve it! [addsig]

I've been hearing good reviews on those tires, and have considered them. I just did some pricing online and they are in my range... I'm probably going to check them out in the store.. and hopefully my jeep will be sportin' new mtr's soon[addsig]

Oh I was just thinking, with larger tires I should look into some steering stabilizers.. does anyone recommend a brand over another?[addsig]

Hi JeepGirl!

As far as the steering stabilizer goes...I have a Rancho and it performs great. I've never been a big Rancho fan, but I gave it a shot. I have had it for about one year without any difficulties.

Have fun with the new lift and the tire search! Patti :) [addsig]

MTR's are no good in the mud, and are over-rated/overpriced. They wear down quickly so you will not get your moneys worth.

Check out the BFG MT in either 32"x11.5" or 33"x10.5". These tires will be lighter than the 33x12.5 and the 4banger could benefit from less rotating mass. The BFG MT does well in all trail conditions, and you can expect 50,000mi. from them or more :-D [addsig]

jeep girl, what size tires are you currently running? I'm getting the same lift next month, but have to wait on some tires, and I want to know how bad it looks. I've got 30x9.5 right now, and a 4 inch lift will dwarf them. Any pictures in its current state?

I do most of my off-roading in the sand, so what tire would be the best for me? Are the M/TR's to aggressive? Should I go with with some AT's?[addsig]

A/Ts are best for sand. And if it's more than a 70% street jeep, such as a daily driver, then definitely go with the A/T's. BFG A/T's are fairly aggressive with long tread life.
