Noisy Lift

Installed an Old Man Emu lift a couple of weeks ago. Coil springs, Steering Stablizer, Leaf Springs and Nitro Shocks. Daystar Greaseable Shackles and Poly bushings. The ride is amazing, which is what my main concern was. But now I am getting a lot of noise. It is comparable to door weather stripping flexing while off roading. It happens as the suspension flexes, or when it drops, after going over a bump. It has been suggested that possibly the shocks dried out? and might need a little lube. When we installed the leaf springs the forward bushings were already pressed in an didn't get greased....should they be greased? The rear leaf spring bushings were greased by using the grease nipple off of the greaseable shackles. I am looking for some ideas of what this noise could be, or if I should pull it apart again and grease the forward bushings or clean them dry or go to rubber bushings? I also removed the rear sway bar, could this cause noise?

If the noise is the loadest when cold, it more than likely is the Daystar skle bushings. I installed these on my wife's 01 and had a constant squeaking as the body moved.

I took them off, slid the boshing end out and roughed up all the smooth surfaces that make conatct with the shakle housing. I also roughed up the sides of the bushings that ride on the inside of the shakle. I used a sanding cylinder and a dremel and it went quickly. I then lubed up the entire assyembly with white grease, reassymbled the shakles and installed them. Then filled at the zerk fitting as well.

If you tightened the leaf packs with the body weight off of them, that could also lead to squeaking. You want to get the bolt in, but not torqued all the way down. Then let the vehicle settle on the leaf packs. Then tighten them down. Try that and see if that helps.

Heck just crank up the stereo and ride that big lift. It will have to break in some time. hhehe Tug :D
