My 2006 3.7L 4WD, 114k miles Jeep Liberty recently produced a OBD2 code of P0700 which says there may be a short in the TCM or it's damaged & must be replaced.
My question is where is the TCM module? Is it integrated within the main ECM or is it mounted separate from it? If it's located separate from the ECM, can it be replaced or repaired by the owner or is this something left only to a qualified mechanic or a dealership?
