What are you doing for the 4th?
I was wondering how many of you will work in the 4th with a vacation day or two or just stay in the back yard next to the cooker?

Leaving tomorrow for a long weekend along the Black River in Missouri, weekend full of camping, swimming, canoeing, and fireworks. Not to mention some good eating and drinking

that should be day two of lifting my XJ. if it doesn't rain monday and tuesday.

Unfortunately I mustl work monday, but hopefully not too much. So Friday I'm going to get some tattoo work done; Saturday packing up the family and heading into the mountians (unfortunately not in the Jeep); Sunday i'll try and avoid mowing the grass; and then actually on the 4th I'm hoping to grill out (i've got a 12 poud brisket in the freezer just asking to be smoked), drink a few beers, and watch the local fireworks.

man.. thats 18 hrs of smoking.. you'd better start that thing on Monday..

Yeah its a whopper, I'll start the fire at about 4:30 am and plan on eating at around 7:00 pm, though typically the whole thing drags out and hour to an hour and a half (depending on how many beers have been consumed in that time) extra.

My wife drug me to Wal-Mart the other day, and in a move just like the devil they made me an offer too good to pass up; brisket for 98 cents a pound because the "sell by" date was July 1. I haven't had time for much hunting over the last two years and the freezer was next to empty so I bought about 40 pounds of it and my arteries quietly cried to themselves.

TOmorrow (Fri):
Trip to the dump
cut the grass (it rained for about a week straight and it needed cut before then :( )
Electrical sidejob
Pick up Hardtop (it's still stitting at the previous owner's house and I got a "when the heck are you gonna pick this thing up" phone call yesterday ;) )

Sat:
TO my mother's in MD, my sister and family are flying in from Colorado - havent seen my nephew in 6 years. Other sister and her family from Pittsurgh will be there too. Cookout/Vollyball.
Sun:
My wife's aunt's big annual shindig. more volleyball, food, etc.

Mon: Work

Tues:
holiday from work, finish anything not finished from Friday then take the family to the local fireworks.

Maybe somewhere along these days I might have time to install my locking stereo console and rear bumper, but I doubt it.

Have driven over 142,000 miles in the past year!!!! So I good neighbor plan to not leave my county unless out of my control. Grill out some meat make some tater salad big ol pitcher of ice tea and maybe a nap in the heat of the day and ol Tug will be in heaven!

I'm off Monday and Tuesday, so I'll just be hanging out at home playing with the dogs and seeing what kind of trouble I can find, and Tuesday going with the family to the big fireworks show put on by a local church. It's bigger than the show the city puts on..

Off to Cape May tonight, and come to Belmar in time for some Jello wrestling put on by the next door summer rental girls... :)

Well I got some friends coming into town from DC, so we are hitting South Beach on the 3rd and then probably some grillin, beers, pool, and a walk down to the beach to watch the fireworks at night on the 4th. Gotta love living near the beach.

Tug, is your store open yet or is it closed on Tuesday?

Combination long weekend. I have to finish painting the house, lite the bbq, drink beer and get ready for upcoming move/transfer.

Hmm... I may have to get more beer.

Leaving tomorrow afternoon with some friends for Lake Tahoe (in CA near the Rubicon), staying in a hotel until Wednesday, going to the beach, BBQ, beer, blowing things up, maybe checking out the casinos on the NV side, and watching the fireworks over the lake. If it's anything like last year, it should be a blast...literally.

sounds like some of you may not be wanting to head into work early on Wed morning.

I just wish everyone a safe Independence day whatever you're doing.
Be careful!!
