problems starting

i have a 88 wrangler with a 4.2 inline six. it has been running fine and the other day i got in it to start it and it will crank and stay started until i let off the key. has this ever happened to anyone what does it sound like the problem is thankx for the help.[addsig]

It cranks,starts but still cranks til you turn the key off,

the key is stuck in the start postion?



would you reword this so we(or just me) have a better idea of what you are trying to say

if i hold the key all the way forward it will run, but mess up my starter and i have to hold it there and as soon as i let it go back to where it should run normally it dies. i hope you understand that better thanks[addsig]
