RE: pros and cons on a 4 cyl.

Has anyon ever heard of putting an explorer rear end in an XJ for the disks? A buddy of mine done this a while back and I dont know if his driveshaft bolted up or not? I can't get a hold of him anymore, and am wanting to do this with mine. I have the 4.0 in it, and want rear disks.

I am also about to buy another with a 4 banger probably for 500 bux, just to play with too.

It'll fit pretty well, you just need a flange to bolt your driveshaft to the pinion flange of the Ford 8.8 rear. It's a good choice for axle, similar width and same lug pattern. They can usually be found with same gear ratio as your XJ. Check out www.car-part.com for axles in your area.
