Rear trac bar to keep or not to keep

I just put a 4in lift on my yj, and I am a running into a whole lot of head aches and bloody knuckles, I have a Jks teloscopping trac in the front so its not a huge prob, since I didnt buy the kit just the springs trying to save a buck (bad mistake) now my rear track bar is about an 1 1/2 to short, if I remove the rear and keep the front will I have anyproblems I would like to say that my jeep is for trail use only but for some reason there is more roads than trails so I see a fair amount of highway time. also will my front sway bar fit I have disconnects and just took them apart to drop my axle and am having a difficult time putting them back together, I just ordered the skid plate lowering kit and shocks from 4wheel drive hardware but the say that they dont just sell the relocator bracket for the rear but they come in kits so much for saving a buck its costing me more in the long run.

thanks
Marc

the rear tracbar on a yj is just something they put on from the factory for shipping purposes... like the little plastic peices that you always end up with when you are taking apart plastic pieces for models and toys and such... just pull it off, cut it, and use it for a cheater bar for stuborn bolts

I removed mine and I see no difference... take it off! Ever notice how nobody sells REAR tracbar relocation brackets? Cause nobody uses them!

yah, definately take it off. Really not much difference on road, and much better off road!!

not the same for a TJ... it is crutial to the 5 link setup

Trac bar is needed for TJ HOWEVER, take that Sway off ASAP. barely any rear body roll (but it isn't a car is it) and after a day or 2 of driving, you will not even notice it anymore. I removed my many moons ago.

I took my rear trac bar off last week. As for not seeing a diffrence that was not true at all. It rides way better now. Chunk the bar.

Like they said, take the rear track bar off. The front track bar should work without a relocation bracket, unless you need the bracket to make the trackbar parallel with the draglink.

You'll need longer swaybar endlinks with the lift, I just removed the swaybar all together.

Check out www.rubiconexpress.com for all the little parts that ordinarily come with a lift, they have them individually.

i took my swaybar off my YJ... actually just tied it up out of the way... and i don't notice much at all... just don't try to drive it like a sports car

Ditto. No rear trac bar, no front sway bar. Once you do it, you'll never go back (and wonder why you didn't do it earlier)

Funny how many YJ owners forget to reconnect the swaybar after wheelin and then realize they didn't miss it at all  You'll get tired of having it tied up after a while and just take it off all together.

i just wanted to see how it drove with no sway bar.... then just thought "its not so bad, i'll just connect it when i want to go on the highway".... then i went on the highway, forgetting to connect it.... then think "why do they waste their time and money putting this stuff on here?"

hey thanks folks, I am still waiting on the ups man to bring my shocks and transfer skid plate spacers, i went ahead and wound up torching the track bar off, seems rust should come in a tube it so much better than locktite.

I say ditch the rear trackbar, but get discos for the swaybar. I had both removed on a YJ for a while, but after a few trips on the interstate in high winds I reconnected the swaybar. The rear trackbar won't do much if anything for on road safety, but the swaybar makes for a much more stable ride. In my opinion, sway bar disconnects are the way to go if you're talkin' about a daily driver.
