Remfd Carter

Hey all...So this past week i decided to order a remfd carter carb from NAPA because I needed a quick and easy way to replace my carb. Now that I have it on, everything runs amazing, but my gas milage is HORRIBLE...i mean, I know its a Jeep and I'm used to shotty milage, but now i'm down to under 7. Did I do something wrong in the installation???

Did you adjust the carb and retune the engine when it was put on? With that kind of mileage, I would bet you are running way rich and it would seem like you would be getting alot of black smoke or raw fuel spitting out the tailpipe. How do the plugs look? Unless you have a pretty radical I6, which I doubt considering you bought a carter, that mileage is way off. I can't give you any tips on tuning the carter, but there is definitely something wrong. Have you got any dyno facilities or performance shops in your area? Take it to them and have them tune it, if it's not something you think you can tackle.
