Removing TJ Muffler Without lowering skid plate?

[FONT=&quot]2002 Jeep TJ- Any tips on removing muffler flange bolts without lowering skid plate? I need to replace muffler and I was thinking of using a 20” extension with a U joint socket and 15mm deep socket and feed it through from the front above the skid plate. Any other suggestions that people have used?[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]I don’t want to lower the skid plate if at all possible because I have stripped nut—serts in the past and would rather have my fingernails ripped out by a sloth. [/FONT]

That is the way I replaced mine. It was all stainless though. Depending on how old or how much rust soak with penetrating oil. Use an impact gun.
