Rubbing or whining noise when turning

yes , i'm back again with more issues from my GC  it's a 98 5.9L all time AWD limited edition if that helps .

when turning in either direction , with slight turn the noise is minimal , but with harder turns as in u turns or as you'd do in a cul de sac ( did i spell that right :p ) it get's louder . it sounded like a person talking to me in a muffled voice like covering their mouth the first few times i heard it and it freaked me out at first lols :D .

any ideas , cause i couldn't figure this one out . thought it might've been tires rubbing which is what it sounds like , but it's unlikely that's the problem . thanks in advance guys ;)

If the "rubbing noise " is coming from the rear and is NOT evident when going Straight, it's probbably an issue with the rear differential clutches. Isolate the noise. if it is in fact coming from the rear end then it's time to service the rear differntial and make sure you install a friction modifier during service.

alright thanks guys , and yes the noise is coming from the rear . i took it in for a service last month and had my buddy check on the rear diff , the fluid level was ok so he topped it off and checked if the fluid had shavings and stuff in it , nothing unusual was found . guess i got a bunch more money to throw away on this thing

i appreciate the info ;)

Drain and fill the rear diff. fluid and add a Friction modifier fluid in it. drive it on a figure 8 for a bit. the rubbing noise should go away after the friction modifier starts working.
