My wife's Aunt and Uncle have a son, Matthew, who was born with a very rare and aggressive cancer. His chances were bad and the treatment was long and ugly. To make a long story short, Matthew endured the treatments, chemotherapy, and spent his first few years hooked up to tubes, in and out of hostpitals... it was miserable for their entire family but Matthew, who has shown himself to be a true warrior, survived and is now living cancer free. He is now 7 years old.
The struggle was difficult emotionally, physically, and financially for his parents. They found themselves in so many situations that seemed impossible but everytime hope seemed lost, someone or something came through for them.
Now Tom and Stu (short for Elizabeth Stuart), having made it through such a tough time and realizing how parents of cancer patients cannot make it without the help of others, run a ministry called "A Place Called Hope". They are doing so many different things for these children and their families. Among them they may offer counseling, or something as simple as giving them parking passes or grocery gift cards... whatever the needs of these peole are they try to accomodate them and the stories are awesome. If they don't have the capability they try to refer them to someone who can.
Being a small charity, and having limited resources, they have several different means of fundraising. They recently sent me an email telling me of a Yahoo-powered search engine that pays them a penny every time someone searches with them as the listed charity.
Anyone who can and is willing to try it, please do. It costs nothing and you will be helping out some of the most incredible people I have ever met do great things for those who desperately need it.

I realize this is an odd request here on Jeepz, and I hope it is not inappropriate to post this. Believe me it is a worthy cause.
They are currently building a website, which I will probably have a link to in my sig once it gets up and running.

Dear Friends,
What if A Place Called Hope earned a penny every time you searched the Internet? Well, now we can!
Goodsearch.com is a new search engine that donates half its revenue, about a penny per search, to the charities its users designate. You use it just as you would any search engine, and it's powered by Yahoo!, so you get great results.
Just go to www.goodsearch.com and be sure to enter A Place Called Hope as the charity you want to support. We set it as a homepage on some of our accounts today. Just 500 of us searching four times a day will raise about $7300 in a year without anyone spending a dime! And please, be sure to spread the word.
Thanks!
Stuart
