hi all further to my problem with my serpentine belt slipping & jumping on my Cherokee sport 2.4 2002. After changing the idle wheel and tension er,
it has now turned out to be the alternator pulley wheel, which has a clutch pulley so I am told, which has stopped working and has jambed on so it cannot free wheel. so I have now got to replace it and job should be done ? does anyone know if I have to replace the alternator or can I just buy a new denso pulley ?.
well I hope so as it has cost about 200 dollar`s so fare.
regards to all. tricky

That i'm aware of, your Jeep did not come with a Decoupler pulley. Could it be that the person who told you that meant the A/C pulley instead? that would make more sense. The pulley clutch assy. on the A/C compressor can be replaced and as Mud4feet would say "A Pain in the Arse". Check the pulleys by spinning each one thats supposed to freewheel with out the serpentine belt. you should be able to tell which one is faulty if it's bad enough to throw the belt off.

hi all know my alternator does have a Decoupler pulley. which has sized

NF-236151 Germany 61 N 1002 denso ?

regard`s Richard
