I posted a question last week about suspension and I would like to say thanks to everyone who gave input. I would have gotten back sooner but my cpu was in the "hospital" with a severe case of the freezes.
I would like to know what you guys think would be a good set of shocks for my 98 tj.
with your help on my last question i was able to figure out that i do have a 4" lift. but i was just wandering what you guys would think would be a good shock.
I had to change the track bar in the front of the jeep this weekend and i noticed that the rubber bushings on the eye end of the shock are really worn, and it allows the shock to slop around pretty good.
By the way I did take the advice of some of you guys about putting my jeep in the mud, rinsing it and then muddying it again and then rinse again to try to figure out what type of lift kit. can't find a name brand but had a hell of a time in the mud.

Doetsch-Tech 3000 is a nice, smooth riding shock. Call Rubicon Express and they can get you just the right length shock you need. Got mine for 32.50 each.

Second choice would be Rusty's Offroad Hydros.

Stay away from gas-charged shocks like Rancho RS5000, ProCrap ES3000, etc. They're kidney busters :lol: [addsig]

I got to tell ya I just put in Heckthorne Rough country's this past weekend and they are pretty smooth my cd player even stopped skipping. :-D [addsig]

I am in the market too for new shocks for my TJ and currently use the 9000's on my YJ without problems.

I have the rancho 9000 shocks on my 99 sahara and they are stiffer than ... well there really stiff. When i hit even a tiny bump in the road i can feel it like i drove over a boulder. Pebbles makle my CD player skip! They are actually good shocks for offroading but mine is also a daily driver and they arent exactly the most comfortable things availiable.[addsig]

I've been quite pleased with the Edelbrock IAS shocks....put them on about one year ago and they have performed very well!
