slip yoke seal??

hey guys...after a stretch of goodluck i think my jeeps starting to grenade itself. anyways, i have a question involving some noises i been hearing and which have gotten horribly worse. my driveline has always made a faint clink when i release the clutch and put the power on. well today something started vibrating on the way home from work, and near the end of the ride, a squealing squeaking noise could be heard every so often, usually at a specific speed or rpm, or maybe it was at a throttle position. anyways, i took a look under and the slip yoke seal looks a little more chewed up than i remember, plus theres a little bit of dampness on the underbody and rear tip of the transfer case. however, no leaks. i kinda need to figure this out quick cause this is my only mode of transportation. thanks in advance for any help

What year and model jeep?

Sounds like a bad ujoint in the rear driveshaft, and it's gone on so long now you'll need to replace your tailshaft cone seal and possibly the entire tailshaft cone. Gone unchecked and you'll be replacing the transfer case mainshaft and bearings.

okay i made a mistake in diagnosis...the seal isnt chewed up at all, just looked it from the angle i viewed it. its a 92 6cyl 5sp w//the 231. and i played with the ujoints a bit, they seem fine
