Speaker Bar Questions

Bought an '05 Wrangler Sport with hard doors. Two questions.
1. When I take the doors off, the lights on the light bar stay on. Is there a switch, or something to make them go out?

2. How can you upgrade the speaker quality in your sound bar?

Thanks in advance.

1. You can use this easily mounted switch to turn off the lights whenever you take the doors off. It plugs into the fuse box behind the glove box and the switch mounts under the glove box.

2. Instead of replacing the sound bar speakers with 5 1/4 go the next size up to 6 1/2. If you are just the littlest bit handy this is a simple upgrade. It won't be flush mounted like the factory speakers but only the grill will stick out. You can then put the 5 1/4 in the front dash with these adapters from 33 Engineering.

Isn't there a fuse you install or remove to keep the dome light off when the doors are removed? I remember it being a lot simpler than installing a switch.

You can just remove the fuse whenever you take the doors off but the switch is easier and replaces that fuse.

what I did was unplug the button in the door jam.The switch in the door jam comes apart.Take it apart and put the button half in the glove box or some where you will not lose it.then in winter time reinstall. It is better than pulling the fuse because then you can still use your dimmer switch to turn on the dome light if you need it.
