Started My 1" Body Lift

Well, I have decided to go with a 1" body lift. I started to take the bolts out on the drivers side, and everyone has snapped. Now, I guess I will have to drill the remainder of the bolt out. My question -- will a drill bit take care of this, and is it easier to go from under the jeep or should I go thru the floor from the top. Any suggestions would be helpful. Also. would it be ok to put the bolt back in from the top with the nut at the bottom?

oh boy... i think we're gonna be in for some fun here.... i don't even think an easy out will help... the reason they snapped is because the bolt is seized in the nut... i wish you the best

the best way now is to cut the bolt flush with a cut off wheel/ grinder.
Second you need to find the bolt size I.E. 5/16-11, 1/2-13 ect not sure here and get three or four colbolt drills that are the "tap drill size". Center punching the bolt and starting off with a smaller drill to make sure you are center of the broken bolt then drilling out the bolt with the tap drill will get them out. you can pick out the threads here and chase the nut with a tap to restore the threads. Most tap drill size will leave you with 75% threads going down one drill size .005-.015 on diameter will allow you to pick the threads out.

seems like a tough process there... if you are not on center, it could ruin the threads really good... but if done right, will do the trick

Try reverse drill bits if you can find them, it will help back the bolt out when the bit grabs.
