You would think that with as many junk yards and used tire shops in this area, that steel rims would be easy to find, well they ain't.How can it be so hard to find a matching set of 15X6-5 on 4 1/2 with a 3" center rims? This is messin' up my plan, both plan A and plan B.Got one more place to check today.Already been to craigslist and ebay.I did find one place on the "net",$105 each! I just want to paint them black and add baby moons or center caps.

Yep, believe me I understand. That's what I wanted on mine was plain old steelies with no holes. I've looked pretty hard and haven't found a set yet. I'd love to find some 15X8's. I think Coker Tire has some new in there catolog (they've got an on-line catolog) but I'm not sure about the center size. I know where there's an old Jeep that has a set of factory steel wheels on it, the guy's thinking about restoring it. I'm going to see if I can pick up a set of cheap chrome wheels and trade him out of them.

Also, it's harder to find a set of wheels with the backspacing more to the inside. It seems the trend has changed over the years to kram the wheels up under the vehicle. I like the deeper dished apearance myself. I think the wider stance would be a benifit to the older jeeps adding track width.

I have 2 15x8 black steel wheels I need to get rid of. You pay for shipping and they are yours. I can get pics if you are interested. They are a little rough, but a little sanding and paint and they will be good as new.

most junk yards will pull rims and tires off to recoup some $$. aluminum and steel rims are worth way more at scrap than they are trying to sell to people, especially when you consider any potential liability and all the people knocking down doors to get 1996 buick rims.

When I am in search of something specific, one of my tricks/methods is to post to craigslist saying I have something and looking to trade (Example I have stock YJ aluminum rims looking to swap for some steelies). when people contact me about the possible trade, I tell them that I already traded but would be considering a straight up purchase. I know it's a little dishonest, but I usually end up with that hard to find part I am looking for.

Hmm, I'll add that one to my sneaky underhanded note book on how to find parts.
