whenever i drive around a corner at slow speeds(5-10mph) the steering wheel wiggles back an forth.not much but noticable.
could this be sign of bad U-Joint at front axle(solid axles).:( that's the only thing i could think of that would be the cause..

other weird thing is if i'm stopped and move the wheel back an forth..you can see the whole front end of my XJ go up and down :-|

what are signs of the steering stabilizer needing replacement ?

in a few weeks,i should be able to replace the U-Joints and maybe the stabilizer if needed..

gonna need to buy some things(jack stands, jack and more tools) in order to do the work..(or pay local jeep specialist to do it)

Thanks in advance..

oh..other thing.just one front tire is wearing on the outter edge..alignment due maybe? other tire is fine..

With a tire in question, i would place the front axle on jackstands and spin the tires by hand.. Look carefully on the flat surface of the inboard, outboard and center of the tire as you spin it. You should be able to determine if the tire is out of round due to a belt separation or a shifted belt within the tire carcass.. Low speed wobbles are usually caused by bad tires, however, check your axle u-joints on both sides for binding as this will also be a possibility.

Thanks..i'll have to pick up new set of stands (present ones are kinda small) and try it out..

if only the rain would stop..
