Hey Gang,
I have a 97 stock (or so I thought) TJ with 30" tires.
My friend has a 2000 TJ he bought brand new and KNOWS is stock height. (also with 30" a/t tires, almost exact same tread lugs)
For some reason though, mine sits about 1.5 - 2" higher. By just looking at them side by side and measured. This measurment is from the top of the tread on the tires(which are evenly matched on both rigs) both with 50psi all around (checked)
My question, how could I tell if there was a 2" coil lift put in mine?
There are no spacers, and no body lift, and the two rigs have what look to be the exact same coils. It also looks like factory bump stops.
I should note, there are old paint marker lines marked on the control arm brackets, in a manner leading me to believe they were "almost" hacked off to fit new ones with a lift kit.
Maybe the original owner decided to cheap out and not do a 3"+ lift at the last minute?
Or were 97's specs just a little bit taller than 2000's?
I can not afford to do a full lift, so I have been contemplating the ProComp 2" coil/shock combination to throw some 31's on. But if its already there.......
Thanks in advance for any knowledge you can share!
