Sweet deal on a d30!!!!

ya so my buddy called me last night and says that he is selling his dana 30out of a TJ....i know i know its a dana 30 but heres what the sweet deal is it has my gear ratio(4.88), arb locker, warn lock out hubs, and Hysteer!!!! all for 1000!!!! :shock: heres my question, if i get this what will i need to do to get iut to work...like will i ned to mod things for the hy steer? lil help here i know i will need an air compresor for the arb but other then taht what else will i need to get to make this work i really want it so lil help here

Depends on what "hi-steer" set up it is. I would say look for a D30 out of a XJ for that TJ cause it is a direct bolt in but is a hi-pinion front end. If you have a drop pitman arm, you may need to remove it and go back to the factory unit. should bolt up but??? You will need to modify one of the gear ratios unless they are identicle which I think they are, but in the origina post, the gear ratio comes up as a smiley!), also a comressor and controls for the ARB will be needed. You could do a york OBA for ~~$200 depending on your mechanical ability, but the specific solenoids for the ARB and a regulator (ARB's only use 30 psi where most OBA's are in teh area of 100-150 psi depending on if yuo underdrive or overdrive the york.) can get a little pricy depending on teh vendor, (ARB products tend to have a huge mark up cause of being produced in australia)

Why don't you just ask the dude your buying it from what else you'll need? He was running it right?

It's well worth it, if you want a D30. I'd probably buy it. It sounds like alot of money for a used D30, but it's got alot of money in it.
