Thinking about 350

Ok bought my first jeep a couple of months ago. 90 model wrangler with 4.0 straight 6. Looking at replacing motor. Should I go back with 4.0 or make the switch. And yes I want honest input.

V-8 (350 Chevy <Cheap> ) backed by an M-21 and a spicer-18. You'll have to drive REALLY hard (to the point of abuse) to break that combo. Like XT said, get your wallet out.

The '90 has the 4.2L engine (258ci). The 350 is a good swap but it's best to find a complete donor vehicle so you can grab the engine, transmission, and transfer case. Doing so ensures the transmission and transfer case are up to the power the v8 will create. Keep in mind that the axles will then become the weak point of the drivetrain.

I had an '88 Wrangler and swapped the 4.2L for a 350, wasn't that expensive and I would do it again.

I have my 2000 Chevy donor sitting in the driveway just haven't got the courage up to put it in my 90, We did do the 350 swap with the trans and transfer on my brothers 93 and it wasn't that bad. But getting him off the couch to return the favor is like pulling teeth.
