thoughts on a CJ that is entirely herculined

Found a listing for a CJ that has been entirely herculined instead of painted. He told me that the previous owner did some welding on the fenders and he thought if he painted it that the paint would look wavy and messed up. So he chose to herculine the whole body. Sounds like he has kept up with the problems and has done some good upgrades and repairs. Your thoughts????

Only problem I would see is how bad was the weld job.If it was welded and grinded down the paint would not have been wavy.Best way to check to make sure it was even welded is to take a magnet with you.Make sure they didnt just use body filler, fiberglass,or even worse duct tape to fix the whole and try to cover it up with the rhino liner.

If you read the instructions with Herc., it doesn't stick to paint well. You have to completely sand and prep whatever you put it on. So I guess it all boils down to how to how well he prepared the Jeep for the Herc.

I would be very wary of buying this Jeep and having it all start to peel down the road. You may want to google Herc., read the instructions, and then ask him how he went about the job. There is a chance that he has been touching it up so that the problem is hidden.

here is a link to get you started.

One other thing, that stuff is almost impossible to remove, so you will be stuck with it.
