Tool box suggestion

Had a problem recently that I though you all might want to know about. As I was driving home in my 83 CJ5, I was leaving a stop sign and shifting from 1st to 2nd when my clutch dropped to the floor. Luckily I was able to roll into a gas station, since I could no longer shift gears. As it turns out, my clutch adjuster and rod fell off, leaving me to start the engine in 2nd and slowly creep home. In replacing the part (never could find the one that fell off), I found out that this is a pretty common problem. The original rod is held to the clutch linkage with just a cotter pin and a couple of washers. You can purchase a replacement rod that is a little more sturdy. It uses a knuckle joint to give the rod freedom of movement, and a nut instead of a cotter pin for added security. I got the new part for $18 at a local yard after quite a bit of searching. It might be a good investment for the tool box, since it is fairly inexpensive and could save you a lot of frustraition.
