Transfer Case Leaking?

I'm getting small drips of Auto-Transmission fluid on the garage floor? You can see the drops on the bottom of the transfer case. I put my finger below the fill plug and it had some fluid below it. I checked it and it was tight. When I pulled the plug a bunch of oil came out? I stopped by my mechanic today and he said the fluid could be coming back from the transmission. Bad seals or worn shaft? The transmission fluid was on the minimum mark or a little below. Earlier this year we changed the fluid a put in new reline oil. Worn shaft or seals between the transfer case and transmission?

I would try replacing the front driveshaft seal first and see if thats the culprit. If not then you will have to pull the transfer case and replace the gasket there. If it was mine and it doesn't leak a lot, I wouldn't worry about replacing the gasket between the transfer and transmision.
A jeep will always mark it's territory.

I would add dye to the trans and see if fluid leaking has dye in it. I'm against replacing parts to see if it fixes it. A proper diagnoses will save you money. It could be many things.

It's unlikely the transmission fluid is making its way into the transfer case, it would have to get by the output seal in the transmission and past the seal around the transfer case input shaft.

The transmission output seal commonly goes bad, allowing fluid to leak from between the transfer case and transmission. The transfer case input seal rarely goes bad.
