I feel I found a good and fair mechanic for the things I can't do because of appartment living or just plain being lazy. The u-joint was replaced and installed for a mere $37.40 which I was very happy to pay. I had the transmission rebuilt in Feb. and the mechanic installed the u-joint incorrectly when putting things back together. I'm in the mechanical engineering field and know my way around a vehicle so I took a closer look and noticed the o2 sensor wires were snapped and will have to replaced or spliced back together. I'm sure this also happened while the transmission was being rebuilt, moral of the story is ... If you want something done right do it yourself. Hey Tug was up in your neck of the woods this weekend, took a run thru the Blue Ridge Parkway from Ashville to Deep Gap then back to Raleigh NC. I sure wish my gal and I would have taken the jeep but maybe it was best we didn't cause I'm sure we would have broken down with the u-joint problem. As Arnold would say we will be back, simply put... Gods Country. Frank[addsig]
