WANTED, 258 Valve Cover

The Electric choke wire shorted and started a small fire that melted the plastic valve cover on my 81 CJ-7 with the 258CI engine. I need a new valve cover, I think most any 258 valve cover will work. If any one has one please e-mail or call.

Not all 258 engines are the same. Especialy the heads. Get the number on the head and do some research. I may be wrong, But i do believe the 81 had a stamped steel valve cover originally. The number should be on top of the head, Drivers side. Some one may have swapped engines or just the head for a newer model.

As far as I've heard if it is a molded plastic valve cover it has to be replaced with a plastic one. If you look at the aftermarket ones most of them say will not replace plastic valve cover but the replacement plastic ones are reasonably priced.
