What transmission do I use?????

Good morning,
I have a 78 cj7 that I'm adding a chevy 350, can anyone tell me what kind of transmission to put in? I will do most of my riding on dirt roads and the trails but I would all so like to climb a lil hill if I come across one. I was thinking a turbo 400??? Or a turbo 350?? Any imput?

First you might want to put your questions in the correct section, this should be in teh tech section for CJ,YJ,TJ's you will get a quicker response there.

regarding transmission and carbs, a stock 350 with a carb.. brand doesn't really matter, keep it between 550-650 cfm.. more is not always better.


for the transmission, look for a 4wd 700r4. th400 is over kill, th350 has no overdrive.
