I have a 01 TJ, I want to change the drums to disc. I was woundering if anyone has done this conversion and what I might need to complete the conversion. The main question is do I need a proportioning valve? Also has anyone ever seen a kit for under $800. I have the Dana 44 in the rear. Thanks.

Good question. I have a 99 TJ and want to do the same conversion at some point, but have no idea about cost or procedure...........[addsig]

I have this 4wheel drive hardware magazine and the kit for my jeep is $769.95. That is one of the cheepest prices that I have found. All the kits are around $800 for the D44R. What I really wnat to know is what's up with that proportioning valve, do I need one?[addsig]

Will my emergency brake still work or do I need something for that?

Will a full floater kit still work? Because thats the next thing I will do.

Have the answer:
Just buy my jeep.
99 TJ currie D60 ARB 5.5" RE LA.... in the for sale forum.
Then you even get the "upgraded" D60 instead of the D44.
I unfortuanatly did not instal the D60 so I do not know the real answer to your question.

Hey INtj how about we swap axles. I'll give you my D44 and you give me your D60. I'll give you a hundred bucks too. :-D [addsig]
