winch or high lift jack?

Another dilema, I can't decide between a winch or a high lift jack. One I can afford now and the other will take awhile. They will both have the same result in the end, getting me unstuck, but which one is more practical?[addsig]

Jack at Christmas is a great idea. Depending on the size tires you go with the factory "jack"

may not help you if a tire needs changed. As for offroad, AAA doesn't make towing calls to the middle of a mudpit

. Depending on who you wheel with (always a good idea do wheel as a group of at least two vehicles...saftey again) recovery straps work in a pinch. Ideal situation is winch and Hi-lift. Just be sure to stay clear of all cables during winching (some really stupid adds out there).

Well, had a big write up going but lost it

Go with the winch first, then the hi-lift. I think you'll use the winch much more than the hi-lift. (unless you blow beads often!)
