my 1991 cherokee wiper motor/system won't turn off when turned on. i end up either unplugging the control modual or pulling the danged expensive breaker from the fuse box. the motor seems to be the culprit as the thing just dies. any of you fellas or ladies had this problem? what was your fix?

sounds like frayed wires in colum arking and fusin together when they get hot keeping the circut open

If you pull the breaker, then plug it back in, do the wipers then restart? Or, do you have to activate the wiper switch to get them going again?

Or, in other words, is it a direct short? Or does it only short once the switch is activated? Sounds like a bad switch or relay to me.
