hey guys/girls. sorry i haven't been around in a few but have been crazy busy. just not enough time in the day. haven't done all that much to the jeep lately other than new lights, guards ect. a friend was looking to sell a yj that he took in trade for partial payment for some home repairs he did. i thought it might be a good deal and asked if i could post it here before he listed it on ebay or the paper. if it's a good deal i'd rather someone here get's it. here's the info
89 yj with hard top and full hard doors. comes with two extra soft tops. one gray & black. it's a 258 with auto.
the interior is actually kind of nice. no rips/tears on the seats. is missing the platic insert in the console and has a tear on the arm rest top. has tilt and int. wipers.
body. has a spot of rot where most put diamond plate. it's on the very bottom of the jeep in between the side flare and lower of the rear flare. (see pix) a few small dings/dents (hood) and the paint? well, it leaves alot to be desired. it has a crome grill and bumper that look good . not all rusty or pitted. i lifted the rug under the drives side and it has typical rot. doesn't look to have eaten the frame under it tho.
mech. it has a current sticker and was a dailly til recently. trans & rear work fine. the motor stalls out. i've started it and it seems to run great and then just dies after 1-2 min. it's like someone shut off the key. doesn't sputter out ect. just shuts off. while it's running tho it seems to run good. was told it's the electronic carb. has a 2" shackle lift . looks decent. doesn't look like elchepo k-mart shackles. has an exhaust leak was also told it's from the air tube. i noticed the tires don't match and one has a nick/slice in the side (curbed?) doesn't leak but i'd be nervous about taking it on the xway.
over all, it would seem like a real good parts donor for the price as it includes the two tops . or maybe a fixer upper for someone who has the time (who has the time?) ? the price is $1,000 with clear title. located on cape cod in ma. email me if youl'd like to come get it. sorry but the hella's somehow found their way on my tj...
