    So the XJx overheating...

It could be either, or even the fan motor. But, since it generally tries to run, turn the ac on and see if it stays on since it should be on when the ac is on. Then wiggle the wiring from the fan as much as you can. That should show if you have a loose connection or ground.

Like where the frame and rear cross member meet? I think they are about 3 inches inboard of the frame mount on each side i think. It has bolts on each side of where the frame and crossmember meet and i think those shackles are over the inboard set of bolts. It uses seven 5/8" (16mm) 10.9...

Do I have a bad torque converter?

We found out that our 03 is a january build so we must have earlier lines than the later 03 this trans came from. The output shaft on the trans didnt come out on this new trans, where it came out on ours. And the cooler lines used different fittings on this trans. Last, of course, the exhaust...

And a longer flatt screw driver against the driver side bellhousing and ypu cam put the tip in the flywheel teeth to rotate the engine over and get the 4 bolts holding the torque converter to the flywheel. Ours is done. Jarrod took the jeep for a few test drives and after we changed the fluid...

Do I have a bad torque converter?

No, put it under the pan. Also, support the engine in case it tries to tilt and pull any wires or put the fan into the radiator

Do I have a bad torque converter?

It is heavy, the trans andnthe torque converter. When you reinstall the torque converter, make sure to read up on whether it has to "seat" a click or three. My son and i pulled his auto trans in his bmw and his torque converter had to click twice so it was seated on the pump spines properly...
