If i remember..the orange is hot(from ecu) and the tan is the gauge wire. If you got the whole thing you dont need the other pump and all that. Think the line on the left(looking from the rear of tank) is the outlet. I'll try to crawl around today and double check.

FYI make sure your using FI fuel hose and dont use plastic fuel filters. The pressure to too high and will blow out both. mpi is alot higher than tbi or carbs. Also you need a tank from a yj....that said you might be able to use a newer pump and make it work with the yj sending unit. but like...

They shipped mine from seattle to portland ups. no prob. You dont need the tank..just the sending unit/pump.

NO..on the tank. maybe on the pump. not sure of the differnence between 4-6 cyl. You can find them all over @ yards or ebay. You need a return.

The pressure seems ok @ less than 40. Any extra should run back to the tank. The stock pumps work on pulsing current from the relay. What i see is the pump might over heat not being in the tank. I did the same thing as you about 7yrs ago and did a HP external pump and it only lasted maybe 8-10...
