    squeaking/clicking/annoying/scary driveshaft

Hey guys. I just got my jeep back up and running last night and after some mildly hard driving the rear part of the cj started making some funny noises. He thinks it's something in the drums, I think it's coming from the driveshaft, and I put it up on jack stands when I got home and I'm pretty...

    Trying to lean it out

Alright, I read that a whistling noise coming from your carb is msot likely a busted purge valve. If I understand the function of a purge valve correctly, a busted purge valve will cause extra fuel to be fed to the engine . . . right? That's my next objective then. Nica, you say you think...

    Trying to lean it out

Right, that's the idle mixture. I can set that, and have it set to peak RPM. Thanks though. I was talking about making float adjustments or jet size changes or whatever it takes to lean it out. I just now thought of the accelerator pump. That should help some, right? I'm gonna go mess with it.

    Trying to lean it out

Hey guys, been a long while since I visited, but I have a question. I've got a motorcraft 2150 carb in my CJ along with the GM HEI from an '80 blazer and a painless wiring harness. Don't think that last one would make any difference unless it was reducing the voltage to the dist or something...

One of those "seems simple" problems

Alright, got the battery back. Got a full charge on it and the parts store says it's ok. Still, absolutely nothing works. Not even the slightest glow in any lights, and it won't crank at all. Does anybody have any ideas? Anything would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys, adios.

One of those "seems simple" problems

Yeah, I tried jumping it, and that didn't work, so I took it in to have it charged but left again before I was able to get it back. I'll try it with the fully charged battery here in a couple of weeks.

One of those "seems simple" problems

Alright guys, I left for college last fall and had to leave my Jeep in Texas, but when I came home for Thanksgiving, it was dead. Deader than a doornail. The thing will not crank and NO electrical system works at all depspite there being ~10V in the battery. I recently put a painless harness in...

    The wonderful carter carb

The one you'll be looking for has got a little "1.08" stamped on the side for the venturi size I belive. I recently did this swap on my CJ along with the GM HEI and love it. Good luck and happy hunting!

    old CJ5 transmission ?

Aaaaaamen. Look for a 71-79 CJ for the T-18, maybe kinda hard. Especially look for one from 77-79, because they'll have the granny first. I think it's 6 point something. I think it was in other Jeeps, like FSJ's or something, but I'm not oo sure. The T-176 came in CJ's and Jeep Tucks from...

    Stroker Build

No, he's saying exactly the opposite. He's saying teh AMC engine will be a direct bolt in, it being the stock engine already. He's saying that after buying the conversion parts, the cost for both engines will be about the same.

OK, lets test the new forum with GT4 screens

I agree with you there. . . You heard of or played Forza Motorsport? I like GT4, so I ain't putting it down, but Forza has comparable graphics and just as many variables, but evalutes every one of them something like twice as often. Populuar Science did a side by side comparison of the two...

External Dimensions, Help please. . .

In my 3-D drafting class at RHIT, our final assignment is a rapid prototype of anything we want. I would love to model my Jeep. If any of y'all know where I can find orthographic drawing and dimensions of Jeep vehicles, please let me know!! Thanks, any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

    MC2100 questions

Explaining the actual linkage I think would be extremely difficult to do in words, but I think I can explain the process. When you're about to start it up, push the skinny pedal to the floor and while it is down, close the choke. This sets the choke plate closed and the fast idle linkage keeps...

Who says you can't pimp a 'wheeler?

RE: Pics? I think I agree with Gary as well. And it's not he like he's completely abandoning us. I'm sure 35 spline alloy dana 60 full float shafts would still get him all excited, am I right? I don't see any problem in it until it starts hampering offroad performance. Although I think rock...
