    High speed vibration

Yeah, wobbling only at high speeds says tires to me as well.

    Rear End Gears

3.83 ratio was used a lot in GM/Chevy trucks. I had an '86 GMC High Sierra (basically a Silverado) with the 305/3-spd combo and it had 3.83's factory. I don't know what exact years these gears were used factory but I know they were prevalent in at least the late 70's and most of the 80's. Most...

    another request for pics

My YJ has the angled 'kiddie bars' in the back. When I get my Hi-Lift I'm gonna mount it on the upper part of the sport bar. It will basically sit right above the front of the rear passenger seat.

    dumb question but Im new....

It should fit. You might even be able to install a lightbar over the windshield with some lights and make it fit. Still, I'd measure. Go to the Jeep dealership and measure the JK you want to buy from the pavement to it's highest point. Then, add 4" for your lift. Then, for each extra inch of...

I wish! My YJ is out of commission right now because I still haven't replaced the clutch. It's probably gonna be another couple weeks until I can get around to doing it... I don't think the Joop will see anymore snow until next winter. That's okay, though. Right before Christmas we got about a...

Yep, matter of fact, it's pouring! It's not sticking to the roads yet, but it's sticking to everything else. We probably have about 3 inches on the ground so far.

YJ's have a 5x4.5 bolt pattern on factory hubs.

    New and full of questions

Yeah, Borg-Warner/TREMTEC T5's are notorious for only being strong enough to handle their factory application. The upside is that they're plentiful, they've been factory standard in at least 30 different models, and still are today afaik. A lot of hot rodders use them because they're easy to...

    New and full of questions

Damn... I've never had a transmission explode, but I did throw a rod through the block of the KA24DE that was originally in my 240. I wasn't even racing at the time, I was just driving down the highway. That's why I went to the SR20DET in the first place. I figured if I was gonna have to buy an...

Okay man, don't take this the wrong way, but it sounds like you are a low-level Retail manager. That's not exactly something to brag about... That said... A few pointers... 1. 20 lbs of boost, and nitrous? In a Jeep? Um, how bout you just go buy yourself a Honda or some other rice-burner and...

    lights on your hood

What kind of lights are those? I bought a pair of lights that look exactly like those to go on my Eclipse when I still had it. They were like $20 at the auto parts store. They made the road easier to see but one of them went out within a month. After that I just removed them.

    Soft Top question

I don't know about the frame the Smittybilt top uses, but go to Quadratec and use the Soft Top advisor. It will help you figure out what you need. Also, instead of going with a Rugged Ridge top, you might consider upgrading to a Bestop. You'll spend a little more money but they're better...

[Clutch] It just keeps getting better and better...

So after spending nearly $1000 this month on a new PCM, alternator, and a 250-mile tow for my Jeep, and after having it back on the road for ONE DAY, now the clutch is slipping. ****in' yay. So it looks like it's going to be sitting again... I have the 2.5L. I already know that this is going to...

    2.5 Engine swap

Any GM smallblock V8 is a good option for a Jeep engine swap. Good automatic transmissions to pair with a GM smallblock are the TH350, TH400, 700R4, and if you get a modern smallblock with fuel injection, the 4L6E. I recommend the 4L6E, it's a slightly stronger electronically-controlled version...

    Jerking at 2-2200RPM

My guess is that it's one of these. If the ECM is going bad it can cause the Jeep to run badly; I just replaced my ECM, and while my Jeep was running good before, it's actually running better and idling perfectly now. If the transmission is not bolted on tight you can get some mean vibrations...
