A few pics of my Wagoneer.

I love this old beasty. It's just about the best $800 I've ever spent! I took the back seat out so my dog has more room- and I don't want to rip it. I also installed the front seat cover. Eventually I will put in a different front seat. I also installed the gauges the other day. Other than that...

Tailgate says "Cherokee" on my Wagoneer.

1979 Wagoneer. Did all of them say "Cherokee" on the tailgate? Or, has my tailgate been replaced? Actually, I need to take some pics of my toy to post 'em up. I'll do that today and post pics of this tailgate as well.

    the shuddering jeep?

No. There is an idle control circuit for when the A/c is on. There is a idle re-learn procedure for after a PCM has been reset; that's where I was going with my line of thinking. I don't know if your car even has that circuit. Most of my experience is on GM stuff- especially my experience on...

    Vehicle History

I've used Carfax and would use them again. I have heard of problems, just like with anything else, but for the most part it's a great service. A lot of times you can get a free Carfax by going to larger car-related forums and asking if someone has a subscription. Car dealers all have accounts...

    wrangler fender flare repaint

Cool. I've worked with many, many Navy nukes. Electronic techs mostly, but a few officers as well. Some of the best and brightest technicians anywhere in the world. Period.

    need engine swap help

A blower...a little nitrous...lean mixture...it'll smoke a big block Chevy...lol Based on my little bit of research, the 2.8 is anemic at best. You should do the swap if you have the talent and money to do so.

01' Grand with howl owl whine from front end.

That is a Technical Service Bulletin. You can look up TSB's on the NHTSA website. It's pretty cool actually...

    wrangler fender flare repaint

No it wasn't. I have used Scotch Brite for many, many years and never heard it referred to as a "green scrubby"... Nice job! Looks great.

    Differential identification?

Thanks for the chart. I looked at the bolt pattern before posting this, but they both have the same pattern. The 60 is obviously much bigger/beefier. Thank you Bounty Hunter. Edit- Mine has the D44 in front and rear. Thanks again. Oh, I also figured out the pinion angle thing from my other...

    Differential identification?

How can I determine which diffs my '79 Wagoneer has? Apparently there are 2 choices- Dana 44 or Dana 60, correct? Which is more desirable? In particular I would like to know which rear-end it has because I am going to figure out a cheap disk brake conversion if one isn't readily available.

    WANTED- 1979 Wagoneer steering column.

Hey Mud People! I need a tilt steering column for my 1979 Wagoneer. It needs to be tight and I will pay $100 including shipping. I can have mine rebuilt locally for $150, so I will probably just go that route, but I thought I'd throw this up and see what happens. Thanks

lost my job, was i wrong?

What you, me, or anybody else believes to be right or wrong is irrelevant to the LAW. The law is, in my experience, generally full of crap and seemingly written by illiterates. But, I digress. I would have beat his ass and quit my stupid job. Jobs like that are a dime-a-dozen. No offense intended.

    Hello!

Me too!!! I never really thought about owning one, but this deal was too good to pass up. I absolutely love this Wagoneer! Even my 18 year old daughter thinks it's cool! It does need some things, but hey, I feel so good about this deal that I have a big grin on my face just thinking about it...

    engine redlines!

A 2000 is an OBDII vehicle. The timing parameters can only be changed with a computer. What is it doing that makes you think the timing is off?
