Hey guys I posted this in general chat but I am not sure it gets much traffic so I am re-posting here!
I was wondering if anyone is thinking about participating in the Vermont Overland Trophy? It is what appears to be a much more approachable version of the famous Camel Trophy, any way here's...
Anybody thinking of signing up for this, it's an overland expedition in the fashion of the famous Camel Trophy but attainable to us mere mortals! I am looking forward to it, just signed up myself!www.vermontoverland.com/vot/
Thanks there is no slop in the balljoints and I have CTM u joints that are moving freely. I noticed a lot of slop in the tiny u joint in the steering shaft, I did get a print out and when I get home on sat I will post them so you can let me know if it seems right. It's funny they want to charge...
So I had an alignment done and at the same time the tires balanced, seemed like a reasonable task for a recommended garage. Asked for stick-on weights so the would not get rubbed off, but was dismayed to see clip-on weights but not wanting to complain I drove off, which revealed the terrible...
I would say for what you are going to spend, you could find a good deal on a set of factory locked 44s from a rubicon and live with the 4:10 gearing until you can sink more into them. They would bolt right in, and you could most likely get the compressors with them, just a thought.
Thanks guys I have tried the additives to no avail, the head has to come off right? So all new gaskets will be required. Should I get oem replacements or are there good aftermarket ones?
As anyone replaced their litters, I have had a failing lifter for some time now and decided to bite the bullet. Shop says 450.00 in labor plus parts, is the job that demanding, I am mechanically inclined and if so does that sound high, it's the 4.0
I do still have them, they are on AR alloys that look like MT classics, the rims are 15x10 with 4.5" back spacing so the steering is not affected lock to lock, no rubbing. I'd like to get around 800 for the 5 mounted + the 1 unmounted. Make an offer they are great tires.
Could a bad lifter cause an inline 6 to have trouble turning over when it is trying to start on the cylinder with the failing lifter? My theory is yes as the compression on the exhaust stroke could be going nowhere and causing the engine to not turn over. Or it's the 7 year old starter , but I...
I have 35s
Toyo Open Country MTs 80 % tread on MT classics. Great tires for a great ride, just got a hood deal on beadlocks with good rubbers let me know if your interested, I am in NY about 1 hr from the city.
Sounds like the locker, clicks would be it disengaging and re-engaging and the shakes would be the indication of it trying to turn both wheels at the same rate during a turn. Both are much more noticeable on the SWB of a jeep, does it scrub the inside tire during turns as well? If so it is...
It may be the idle air control, mine was doing the same thing and I took it off of the throttle body and gave it a good cleaning with TB cleaner, idle is at 750-800rpm where it belongs
6- Toyo MTs for sale
5 mounted on AR 15x10 unpolished alum. Rims have 4.5 backspacing and are 5 on 4.5 from my TJ. 4 tires have 80 % tread 1 has 90 and the unmounted is nearly new but has a small chunk missing out of the side wall at the bead, still held air, but swapped it anyway. Will...
