    Smells bad!

As LBR said... also if you have the original air cleaner assembly, check to make sure there is vacuum to the actuator on the air intake gate. It should be closed when cold before start up, but should open once started or warmed up. If it stays closed, it acts like a choke. Also, have you done a...

    Locker

What about a spool? I drive it on the pavement. Would it hurt? or would it just eat up tires more?

    Locker

I want to put an auto locker in my cj7 with a amc20 rear end. I looked at the powertrax locker, but i was told it wouldnt work in this rearend since it has one piece axles, and the factory trac lock (limited slip). Will a detroit work? I dont have the expense to go with an ARB or Ox. Any...

    Ruff ride

Oops, im sorry, typo. 19psi. I was running them at 30psi, also, the rear end is an amc20 true loc. Does that mean it is limited slip? Ive never pulled the cover off, but the sticker inside the glove box says caution: even with one wheel off the ground , this vehicle can still move, or...

    Ruff ride

Redcone Pass The tire man that mounted my tires said it would be fine, as long as it was in town driving, and 45mph is the fastest street in town. they dont even bulge on the sidewall, or feel squirmy on or off the road, and the tread sits flat on the ground.

    Ruff ride

I got longer bolts, and stayed with the same shackles. it smoothed up the ride some, @ the same time i aired down to 9psi , street and rock it improved. Im just gonna hafta settled for the nature of the beast on this one for now.

    Ruff ride

Ill have to check those. I think I did crank them down, only because the bolts were alittle short, and i was trying to get every bit of threads onto the nut. I think I will install the longer shackles while I have it apart anyway. I suppose it wouldnt hurt. Thanks TC and Junk.

    Ruff ride

RE: mandatory reading I purchased and installed superlift's superride 4" lift springs onto my CJ7, and the ride quality has gotten worse. Someone told me to put longer shackles, (shackle lift) , and it would improve. I do have a 3/4" shackle lift i could use. I would just like a second...

    one pieceaxle help

I bought the Alloy one piece axle kit, and i installed them without shims also. I have not yet had a problem. But they did say to reinstall the shims only if the bearing protruded more than .060" outside of the end of the housing.
