I do not own a Jeep Cherokee yet. But am interested to now form someone, how much a 2001 Jeep Cherokee Sport with a factory tow package is rated to pull? I'm going to be hualing a 3,350lbs. pop-up camper, plus 1000lbs. in passangers and cargo. 4,350lbs. in total. Also what is the gas mileage like in the city and highway?
The lease on my 04 gas-hungry Durango is ending soon and I am researching for its cheaper replacement. The Jeep Liberty would do, but it seem to small and it would cost more to purchase. I have heard only good reports about the durability of the Cherokee's 4.0L engine and its transmision. Looks like it might be a good replacement, if it can pull.
