2.5l engine trouble

the 2.5l fuel injected engine in my 87 cherokee won't start!...i'm getting fuel, getting spark, and the timing is right on the money...anyone got any ideas???....i'm lost

How about some more info... does it crank? does it catch and then die out? does it begin to start and just die instantly as if the electrical system cuts out?

it just cranks and cranks.......no hint of any firing....but like i said...it has all the factors needed for operation...i'm clueless...never seen anything like this.

Do you hear the fuel pump working when the key is in RUN (not START)?

the fuel pump is definetly working

Well I was trying to figure out if the ignition switch is powering the proper things in the RUN position. Sounds like an electrical issue to me :mrgreen:
